TUITION
The curriculum at eXit SPACE is a year-long program, beginning in September and ending in June. We will consider late registrations (i.e. those made after September of each school year) based on the space available and any potential disruption to students already in the class. Please call 206-949-8643 if you would like to register your child after the September timeframe.

For convenience and ease of payment, we offer two payment options:

  1. Tuition paid in full at the beginning of the season at a discounted rate of 5%
  2. Tuition paid in 4 periods throughout the Sept-June season on specific due dates (Sept 12, Nov 21, Jan 23, Apr 2)
Number of Classes Annual Rate Per Quarter Rate
1 class per week $551 $145
2 classes per week $1007 $265
3 classes per week $1425 $375
4 or more classes per week $1786 $470
  • Payments may be made with personal check, cash, or credit/debit card. Checks should be made payable to eXit SPACE
  • We offer a discount of 25% for families registering 2 or more children. The discount is applied to the student enrolled in the smaller number of classes
  • An annual registration fee of $20 per student is due at the time of enrollment
  • All tuition and registration fees are non-refundable
  • Customers with returned checks will be charged a $25 fee
  • Tuition that is more then 10 days late will incur a late fee of $25

IF YOU DECIDE TO DISCONTINUE A CLASS
eXit SPACE maintains a "1 month prior" discontinuation policy. Please call or email eXit SPACE one month prior to the date that you wish to discontinue your child’s enrollment in our Young Dancer Program. We need parents to do this because for many of our classes we have waiting lists; knowing of a drop in enrollment will allow us to offer the class space to another child.

New Students
Where does your child fit in? In order to best help you register your child in the correct level and style of dance class we need to talk with you! Please email or give us a call. Often times we can place a child from the information you share with us via email or over the phone, sometimes a placement class is the best solution.

GUIDANCE AND EVALUATIONS
Class Placement and Progression
Although the levels are loosely guided by age, unlike at your child’s school, dancers rarely progress a level each year. A dancer’s education and progression of technique, performance, and artistry is a process that spans over many years. We develop the structure of our classes and levels directly around and for the benefit of the individual students in our Young Dancer Program. Although your young dancer may be placed in the same level as the year before this does not mean that they will be starting over, rather they will continue to refine and practice the technique. As they move through the young dancer program levels they will have the opportunity to follow and mimic more advanced class mates and eventually become the leader in the classroom, this is an essential part of their dance education.

At the culmination of the season our students receive an evaluation and placement card from their instructor. Our faculty carefully evaluates the progress as well as the current and potential level of technique for each individual student. Parents will receive our recommendations for their child’s next dance class(es) which will help them register for the most appropriate and beneficial level of ballet, tap, jazz, modern, or hip hop. Our program depends on the talents and education of our faculty, through many years of teaching and training we have discovered the best way to place our students in the most appropriate level of class as well as nurture the individual young dancer. Our classes are based on the level of technique taught; some children progress more quickly while others will take more time to achieve the necessary tools and form to move up a level. Your child’s dance education is individual to your child, we believe in challenging each dancer to progress within their capabilities while pushing them beyond what they believe is possible.

STUDIO POLICIES
Discipline and respect are both qualities that are learned in dance class. Please note the following dance class etiquette and discuss it with your child.

  • Be prepared - a special dance bag may help!! Keep shoes, warm-up clothing, and WATER in a bag for each dance class.
  • There are no street shoes allowed on the dance floor (this includes parent’s footwear as well). We value our floor and treat it with respect as only dancers are allowed to move on it.
  • Gum, candy, and food are not allowed in the studio.
  • We encourage all dancers to explore and share their thoughts and ideas with us. Each instructor has created a class that promotes creativity and imagination. In order for all dancers to benefit, each dancer must learn to listen and follow the instructions of the teacher.
  • For very young dancers (3-5 years) a trip to the bathroom before class is needed. Parents can help them to the bathroom before break so the instructor does not have to stop class for too many bathroom breaks.
  • If there is a class in session as you and your child are entering the studio please try and enter as quietly as possible as to not disturb the students in class. As you leave class another class will be starting. Please exit the studio quietly and resume any conversations outside.
  • Class always ends with a reverence (a bow and thank you) during the last 5 minutes. At this time the teacher thanks the students for their great dancing and the students thank the teacher for class that day.

PARENT WATCH WEEK
It is our mission to create a safe and supportive environment for dancers to learn and create; therefore, we ask that you allow your child their space so they can gain a sense of independence and control. We ask that parents accompany their child to class and then leave the space during the class, returning at least 5 minutes before reverence. We understand children develop their independence at various times, so if you or your child is uncomfortable please speak with Marlo so we can best suit your needs. Most importantly, as lovely as siblings are, unfortunately they usually cause a distraction. Please feel free to introduce siblings to the school but remove them during class.
We will hold two parent watch weeks during the year (September-June). During these weeks, siblings, family, and friends are all welcome to observe the class. This is a great time for the young dancers to show what they have learned and to receive applause and positive remarks from an audience!! Reminders about parent watch weeks will be given at least four weeks prior for scheduling purposes.

eXit SPACE SCHOOL PERFORMANCE
Broadway Performance Hall, Seattle
Dance is a performing art form, performance is a very important element in the training and education of young dancers. Each year we produce an all school concert featuring our lovely Young Dancer Program students, talented Adult Program dancers, and entertaining professional modern dance companies. We provide the students with a professional venue, a structured yet exciting backstage experience, and above all we guide them through the process of performance. This is a great opportunity for dancers to learn more about dance by watching other talented dancers and to discover the fun of performing on a stage with lighting, costumes, and music. It is also a terrific time for parents, family, and friends to share in their young dancers’ training and experience.
